From a very young age, I have enjoyed the process of creating dimensional and tangible objects. The ceramic medium not only allows me to create physical forms, but the technically intensive processes involved have since captivated me. Due to its stiff and fragile nature, decorative ceramic is often unable to provide the viewer with a physical experience, as it is often rendered inaccessible to them. My current source of interest is to provide the observer with a tangible experience—and in a way, let the viewer become intimate these objects through my recent body of work.

The disconnect between ornamental ceramic and the observer has fueled my pursuit to stride away from the tradition of rigid sculptures and objects and allow the observer to fully come into contact with the artwork itself—to touch it, feel it, and experience it as an extension of the body like an everyday accesory. Whether it is acquired and worn as a functional accessory, or simply installed in an environment, these objects seek to interact with the human body.

As I continue to experiement with different techinques, I intend to create ceramic accessories, beyond jewelery, that can be successfully - and confortably worn as a fashion statement - this my ongoing exploration.
